Participants Needed for Study on Late-Life Stepfamily Formation

Dr. Sylvia Mikucki-Enyart, an Assistant Professor in the Division of Communication at UW-Stevens Point, is conducting a research study exploring late-life stepfamily formation.

The study focuses on the experiences of adult children whose parents divorced and remarried when the adult child was 18 years of age or older. More specifically, this research examines  adult children’s relationships and communication with their parents and stepparents during the stepfamily formation process.

Men and women who: (a) were 18 years of age or older when their parents divorced and remarried, and (b) were living on their own at the time of their parents’ remarriage are invited to participate in an interview with a member of Dr. Mikucki-Enyart’s research team.

Interviews will last approximately 60 -90 minutes. Interviews will take place on the UW-Stevens Point campus OR by phone at a date and time that is most convenient to the participant.

Participation is completely voluntary and all responses will be kept confidential. In appreciation of your participation, you will receive $20.00.

If you qualify for the study and are interested in participating, please contact Dr. Mikucki-Enyart to schedule an interview: uwsp.stepfamilystudy@gmail.com.

In addition, if you know other individuals who may like to participate, please feel free to forward this message to them.

If you have any questions, please contact Dr. Mikucki-Enyart at uwsp.stepfamilystudy@gmail.com.

Thank you in advance for your time. Your participation will help advance our understanding of this important family transition.
